About the artwork
Spot Mirror No. 2 is the second work in the Spot Mirror series.
The work consists of a 4 mm aluminum plate covered with a thin, brushed chiffon and mounted on a wooden panel. The surrounding shadow gap creates a clear separation between the surface, support, and wall. This makes the image appear not only like a flat painting but like an independent object with a spatial presence.
The combination of metal structure and fine chiffon creates a surface that changes depending on the light, space, and viewing angle. Sometimes it appears matte and restrained, sometimes glossy or reflective, in some places almost colorful. The dark, softly fading spot in the center acts like a condensation of light, shadow, and material.
Spot Mirror No. 2 explores the boundary between image, mirror, and object. It is a reduced yet vibrant work whose effect is not static but constantly reshapes itself with its surroundings.
